Meet Lexi, the owner of Folkish Creations

Hi! Im Lexi, a recent college graduate who somehow gets to fulfill her lifelong dream of owning her own business and creating magical pieces for you all to enjoy! While getting my bachelors in art history at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte I stumbled upon polymer clay and instantly fell in love. Although I have been creative since I was a kid I always struggled finding my medium of choice, turns out polymer clay was it! However, I wouldn't have been able to do ANY of this without my boyfriend and the love of my life. He was the one who got me all the necessary materials when I first started and supported me from the very beginning. Without him and his support, Folkish probably would not exist. When I'm not working on clay you can find me exploring the mountains with my boyfriend and Australian shepherd, Esther.

How did Folkish get its name?

It actually took me quite a bit of time to come up with the name Folkish. I spent many days brainstorming words that not only meant a lot to me but also encompassed a lot of my passions and loves. No matter how long I brainstormed, the word folklore just would not leave my brain so I decided to mess around with the word and after many attempts landed on Folkish. I wanted my items to be folk art inspired and give you that folk-ish feeling! I hope my creations give you that *dash* of folklore like I always dreamed.

Folkish is for the wild folk. For those who find peace in a misty forest where a slumbering beast could be hidden behind any corner. Or for those who just crave escape from reality sometimes. I hope my creations will be the perfect companion for all your wonderful and magical journeys.
